Today there are many new and updated styles of wallpaper. Some new wallpaper designs have a great modern feel and the detailed patterns work great in creating a cheap headboard for you bedroom.
The great thing about wallpaper is that it is easy to make any shape and design you want. Sharp edged modern shapes or rounded rolling classic curves can be cut to suit your new look.

If you want to come up with your own shape just take a few sheets of poster board and tape them all together. Draw out the shape you had in mind for a guide template. Even a straight-edged wallpaper pattern looks great behind the bed. Just make sure you build your headboard at least four or five inches wider than your mattress to allow for the added size of your bedding.
Just follow your wallpaper’s gluing instructions to apply your new headboard to the wall.
